I’ve gone back to my beginnings with my weight-loss food choices. I had been rocking the boat as of late, letting some of the old, “not so good for me” foods back in and leaving some of the “better for you” foods out. I’m a convenience eater, meaning my food has to be quick and easy because I always seem to be on the run. So to stay on track, a routine and an arsenal of foods that are a) healthy, b) easy or c) less bad for me than other choices always have to be in my house.
That said, and it being fall, one of my favorite staples, especially at this time of year, is apples. More specifically, Gala Apples. They are the Best. Apples. Ever. They are crunchy, sweet and juicy and almost always stop my cravings for other sweets dead in their tracks. While I’ve always loved apples, I never ate them all that much before last year. Last year, I got an apple corer and slicer that cuts my apples into 16 convenient slices and removes the core all in one motion. I love this gadget! It saves me time and turns my apples into a fun and easy snack. Now I eat at least one, and sometimes two apples a day.
They are low in calories, high in soluble fiber and pack a ton of great nutrients and vitamins. Hey, there’s a reason they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
And they’re yummy.

Gala apples are really good! I eat 1 apple a day but I’ll switch during seasons cause not every apple tasts good the whole year.

I picked up the Honeycrisp apples in Sam’s Club yesterday. They were a little more expensive than the Gala’s but oh my, they were worth it! I don’t think they’ll be easy to find, but yes, these are amazing!!!! I think they are the juiciest apples I’ve ever eaten.
