Spring is coming…I can feel it
Today was windy and cold. But the sun was shining and the sky was bright blue. And the air was soft. I don’t know how else to describe it. There was a gentleness to the air when the wind wasn’t whipping. It wasn’t the biting cold we’ve had in recent weeks. And when I left work tonight at 5:30, there was still a little bit of daylight.
Spring is coming. The calendar says so, and today I could just feel it in the air. It lifted my spirits. Until today, I wasn’t holding out much hope that winter would ever end.
I have two weeks of crazy deadlines and ridiculous amounts of work ahead of me. We have our big push before the biggest show in our industry, so there’s lots of writing and editing to do. I won’t see much daylight I’m afraid in the next two weeks.
But when it’s all said and done, it will be March, and well on the way to spring. That means no more snow for a while. Running outside. Getting on the bike. Daylight in the morning and the evening. Soft air and warmer breezes.
It makes me happy. It makes me feel in control. I had a good food day today. And I’m getting to bed early and running at the gym tomorrow. It’s a good feeling to be thinking of spring.
Just think. Before we know it, we’ll be complaining about heat and humidity again. I’m thinking after this winter, maybe I won’t complain so much about the summer weather. At least in that, I don’t mind beingĀ outside.
What signals the first signs of Spring for you?

Your blog was very uplifting! I have shared many of the same thoughts and feelings of recent you have mentioned in your blog. We have had the worst February on record with regard to weather in Cincinnati this year. We currently have almost 2 feet of snow…and a couple of days this week made it impossible to go to work…as highways were shut completely down. I have a gym membership but getting to the gym has even been impossible. I battle my weight as well and my eating habits have not been great during the winter. Last winter/Christmas I gained 8 lbs. and did not lose it until July. I am determined not to let that happen this year. I am up 4 lbs. since Christmas and I can’t seem to motivate myself to get it off. Perhaps the spring weather will help! Thanks for your post.
Signs of spring: birds whistling in the morning, not going to and coming home from work while it’s still dark, trees starting to get green again.
I can’t wait till the weather gets better. Allthough I still will be complaining about the heat if that arrives
Two things I don’t like: snow and heat. But I already decided when summer heat comes I will be getting up early and do my runs in the morning, won’t let it hold me back!
Good luck on your job next 2 weeks.
