It's really beautiful Diane!

I agree that you see more when you walk, run or bike but I haven't really discovered a new spot where I live.

I agree with you. Being in car you might miss some beutiful sights as you are constantly moving. But walking gives those opportunities. You can just stop for a while and enjoy some sight seeing. Walking also benefits to shop around, specially for ladies. It also benefits the health.

So one must not miss out on walking opportunities as much as possible.

Fear of re-injury can be intense. I gained some weight back when I was injured (some of which I still have not lost) and I am hardly training at the point I should be, or was last year. But what i am trying to keep in focus is that this year is not last year. And next year will not be this year. Day by day, Diane.

Sometimes you have it. Sometimes you don't. I think the key is to have it MORE than you don't, ya know? I know you will get over this hump- it takes a few good days in a row to realize that one injury does not mean the end :)

For a yogurt I think 100 calories a serving is a lot. I use low fat yogurts with fruit flavors that have less calories.

My "healthy" indulgence is a little piece of very dark chocolate.

Frozen fruit with lots of whipped cream!!!!!

Even though fruit is good for you, it is loaded with sugar...and I eat a lot of it! However, I know it could be worst so I allow it!

hey,
I was eating that activia yogurt every day but then realized eating yogurt for what probably is a lactose problem is not going to work...
I got some email recently about banana's and how they are some marvel fruit and I morning and night I have one (or a sliced apple) with a gob of peanut butter on each bite. Love pb. I don't know about the calories in PB but you can't beat it for protein. I just opened up an individual serving size of Hummus. they come in a box of like 16 at Costco. and again the calories in hummus might be higher than expected, but it's good for you and more protein. granted I'm not as concerned with calorie count than just eating better, but it sure beats oreos (once a chubby adolescent, I see Oreos the way an alcoholic sees a bottle of gin.)
Anyway, everything in moderation. Ellen is a big "only eat the serving size" follower. that means 3 Oreos. but that's it......

Hey Diane,
I have been taking a lemon yogurt and mixing it w. grape nuts and it is filling - I hope it;s not too bad.
but my new thing is 85% dark chocolate - 2 squares - 110 calories and I find I eat it slower.
if Lindt's would like to deliver a truck load of chocolates to my house, I would be cool with it. :-)

A few months ago I switched the Greek yogurt and now that's all I eat. Everything else is too packed with sugar and not healthy, in my opinion. I also now buy the plain or vanilla greek yogurt instead of the ones with fruit--even less sugar!
